A Threat to be Neutralized
I guess “I have arrived” at the pinnacle of internet success. I must be neutralized. It appears I am a threat to radical Islam. Much to my surprise I, with my little Christian outreach website, became a target for Muslim hackers. My misguided electronic nuisance gained access and inserted a new homepage. Then he placed the sound of Arabic men singing some patriotic song and the image of Islamic flags flying in the background.
The page was directing viewers to a Muslim, or maybe Isis, site. Therefore, I didn’t click on it. I thought there might be a virus, a Trojan file, or some other kind of attack waiting for me.
Now I must confess, I ignored the hack for a few weeks. Dealing with it would be a hassle. So I just turned the site off until I was ready to deal with it. Once I began to work on it, the process was as difficult as I imagined.
Sometimes there isn’t much motivation to work the site. I don’t get much response from people. I’ve only earned about $6 from 10 plus years of labor. I don’t do it for the money, but it costs about $400 – $600 dollars a year to operate it, so it would be nice to recover some of that. It will cost me even more now that I’ve had to implement additional security. I haven’t added much content to it lately either. So that definitely decreases interest and impact. It doesn’t really reflect the actions of one who has arrived, so obviously, I have not.
Last year I disconnected from this site. I had some valid reasons. My wife and helped her parents close down and sell the house they lived in for 60+ years. So we removed and donated tons (literally) of their unnecessary possessions. Then we moved them into our home in South Dakota. That was a pretty huge undertaking. However, I could have done more on the website and I should have.
Good Reasons to Continue
There are good reasons to continue the site. One is that I have over 1,700 subscribers. There are also people from all over the world that like the site enough to register. That’s a bigger audience than I ever had in any church I served over the decades. I also know that some people signed up so they can spam the comments section with links to their foolish “money-making opportunities”. I am notified of their existence and delete them. When I’m active I usually get 5-7 new subscribers every day or so and that’s a good thing.
Now that I know “I have arrived” and am a threat to those who hate “the people of the cross”, the followers of Jesus, I’m going to work even harder. I will continue to boldly share the truth about Father God and His awesome Son Jesus Christ. I pray that those who read my content will be blessed, even those who hate Him and don’t know the truth.
Beware of Error
Here’s a good scripture verse to end with:
2 Peter 3:17-18 (NLT) I am warning you ahead of time, dear friends. Be on guard so that you will not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people and lose your own secure footing. (18) Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.
There is a lot of error being taught in society and in some churches. Don’t get carried away by the activities of wicked people who promote their lies. The truth of God’s Word (the Bible) is your only secure footing. As you stand on the Word you will be able to grow in the grace (God’s favor you don’t deserve) and knowledge of Jesus (who makes it possible for you to have God’s grace). Growing in these things means they increase! Bare minimum amounts should not satisfy you. Seek more!
Have You Arrived?
Make Him your Lord – that means “master”. Make Him your Savior. He and He alone will save you from sin and give you eternal life with God. When you do that (or if you already have), give Jesus glory. That means to praise Him, honor Him and celebrate Him: who He is and what He has done for you. Do it now and forever! Your commitment to Him will change your life and fill you with His love. Then you will find out that you have arrived at the place of abundant peace and joy.
