You Can Win the Prize

There is a prize waiting for you…..and you can win it now! This is not just any prize. This prize will change your life.

What is the prize?

Did you know there is a reason why you were put on this earth? You are not an accident. You are not here just because of a biological event. You are known to God. He has a plan for your life. He has apprehended your life and has created a unique purpose for you that no one else can fulfill.

The good news is this: God wants you to win the prize. He wants you to succeed. He will work in you by the power of His Holy Spirit so you can win your prize. He truly cares about the quality of your existence and wants only the very best for you! God wants you to win the prize so much, and that prize is a relationship with Him!

How Do You Get the Prize?

Philippians 3:12-14 (NIV) Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

God inspired the Apostle Paul to write this down many years ago and the truth of these three verses work today just as powerfully as they did when they were first written.

When you change your thinking your life will change. Paul wrote:

Realize you are not perfect.
Forget the past.
Strain toward what is ahead.
Press on toward the goal.
Expect to win.

There is a Process that Produces Change

This is a process. It involves spiritual growth. It takes time but it produces change. The Holy Spirit, who lives in you (if you are a believer), will begin to work in you.

When you turn your life over to God and accept His Son Jesus Christ as your Savior, you will discover that He apprehended your life because He loves you passionately and has called you for a specific purpose. As you press on in your relationship with Him you will discover it and He will guide you so you fulfill it. Just ask Him and He will begin to reveal it to you. Don’t let circumstances or personal weaknesses hold you back.

Some people avoid God because they don’t think they are good enough for Him. He knows you are not perfect but He wants you to come to Him anyway. He accepts you just as you are and loves you unconditionally. Leave the past in the past and press toward what is ahead. It’s not always easy. Sometimes you have to strain toward the goal. That may involve some pain. But don’t dwell on your previous mistakes and failures. Keep looking at Jesus. He is your cheerleader, standing at the goal line, the finish line, encouraging you to keep going so you can win the prize – HIM! Don’t give up. Keep moving forward toward the goal. Don’t stop. Don’t go backward either. Keep going and you will reach the goal.

So how can you keep yourself energized so you can reach the goal? Well, I find my energy in my relationship with Him. I also love to read the Bible and listen to other gifted Christians who teach and encourage me. That helps me learn more about Him and inspires me to continually embrace Him personally. You can do that, too! Seek Him! You’ll find Him!
