Did you know God has given you spiritual gifts? Did you know He wants you to use them? He wants you to use your gifts well! Look at what the apostle Peter wrote about this.
1 Peter 4:10-11 God has given each of you a gift from His great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. (11) Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God Himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to Him forever and ever! Amen.
Every believer has gifts given to them from God. What you have is very special. God has a great variety of spiritual gifts and He has chosen to give one or more of those to you. Think about how awesome that is for a moment. Why did God create so many gifts? In order to meet every possible need that would arise in the lives of His people.
God is a need meeting God! In the church and in the world there are a variety of situations that need God’s intervention. He often uses His people to do so, by putting the right person with the right gift at the right place at the right time to touch someone! There are going to be times when you will be the person with the gift to meet the need. That’s why God gave the gift to you in the first place, so He could use you.
So what should you do with your gifts? Use your gifts well to serve one another. Use them in the very best ways possible. Do great things with them. Understand this, your gifts are meant to be developed, matured, and perfected. The best thing you can do is get connected with those who will help you grow them and use them to their greatest potential.
Be faithful with your gift. Pour it out freely, generously, liberally. Your gift is given to you to serve! It’s not given to puff you up or make you look important. It is given so God can bless someone in need.
As you use your gift, make sure you do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Learn to function by the strength of His power, not yours. His power will accomplish the task. Your energy may fail. You are only human after all! But when you flow in the Spirit, you are able to release God’s power into people’s lives.
What is the result of using your gifts well with all the strength God supplies? Everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ! Not just some things you do, but every thing you do! That should always be your primary goal…to bring glory to HIM. Not yourself. You are the instrument He uses to accomplish the task, but all the power and all the glory goes to Him, forever!
So acknowledge your gifts. Use your gifts well. Be a servant. Tap into His strength. Give Him glory! That’s the Biblical process for the use and development of your spiritual gifts!
